NIS was retained to assist Pacific University with the technology requirements for several projects including a new library, renovation of the athletic center, and relocation of Old College Hall. As this project progressed, it became apparent that the current voice platform could not meet the requirements for the expansion projects.
NIS assessed the University requirements and assisted in the total procurement process for a new system. The needs assessment process unveiled a significant desire and advantage to VoIP applications as well as future campus expansion and renovation plans that would increase the sophistication of applications required in the future. The chosen VoIP system supports over 2,000 stations and resulted in a replacement effort that creatively spans the availability of funding.
Our services included providing design and installation project management services for a wide variety of projects including: structured cabling, an IP based security system, wireless LAN, and an audio visual presentation system. NIS has also been responsible for the review of administrative policies and contract management procedures, and development of a plan for disaster/business continuance for the University.
