Metro
PROJECT OVERVIEW
NIS was recently awarded a contract through a competitive RFP process to assist Metro, the regional governmental agency for the Portland metropolitan area, in the efforts to upgrade their telephone system. NIS worked with Metro to design a VoIP system using the previously selected Cisco platform. As a part of this effort NIS was also responsible for providing a detailed analysis and recommendations regarding the Layer 1 infrastructure and instructions for preparation of the Layer 2/Layer 3 environment as well. The resulting report provided a comprehensive plan to prepare Metro locations for the upgrade as well as bill of materials information for sizing and budgeting purposes.
